John Baptist Records was created out of a deep love for music and a desire to see the industry and society take a positive and holistic approach to affecting culture. The label was created at the beginning of 2006 by its founder and featured artist, Rajeev Nandakumaran (G-Vo). John Baptist Records serves as a venue for incredibly talented, yet equally spiritually and socially aware musicians to create a wave in the music industry. Living in a culture that is saturated with constant negativity, John Baptist Records seeks to provide a contrary outlet: A light in the midst of darkness. The label has been designed to uplift souls, and point listeners to a more eternal frame of mind. Though music is the passion that fuels John Baptist Records, the label is much more than music – it is indeed a movement. The label has aspirations to spark change holistically, and shed light on issues in the third world. They are truly bringing the third world perspective to America. John Baptist Records understands that music has the power to change lives and to essentially transform hearts. They partner with organizations in the third world to bring financial, spiritual, and social healing to the greatest areas of need. Currently, John Baptist Records has adopted Jaffna, Sri Lanka as the city to assist in their time of much unrest. The label is also looking to partner with World Vision in an upcoming peace campaign.
